It is with regret that we must inform former patients of Dr. Genge and Dr. Gniewek, that effective April

7 th , until further notice we will no longer be able to provide primary care services here at the Spryfield

Medical Centre.

These former patients being seen by our locum physicians (Dr. Jollymore and Dr. MacIntyre), as of now

we have not found replacement physicians, but we are hopeful. We understand that some of you may

want to look for a new family physician outside of our practice. Please be assured that the director of

clinical operations of Spryfield Medical Centre will continue to actively recruit for replacement

physicians in partnership with the Nova Scotia Health Authority and Dr. Gniewek and Dr. Genge.

All active patients will be notified when a replacement physician is found. To be proactive we

recommend that you begin looking for a new physician as well by registering yourself and family

members on the need a family physician registry by visiting this link below:

Your medical records will be kept confidential and protected according to appropriate privacy guidelines

and will be available should you choose to transfer to a new physician. If transferring outside of our

clinic, you will need to sign an authorization form before we can release your medical records. Please

note, by law we cannot share your medical information without your written consent. You may sign this

form at our office.

For patients impacted by this latest update we would like to provided direction on how to obtain

information on where you can go for health care by visiting the links provided below. You may also call

211 directly to speak with a community resource navigator, who will refer you to the appropriate

recourse, programs and services in your community. (https://ns.211.ca/)

1. Primary Care Clinics (clinics that provide pre-booked appointments for people who have registered

on the Need a Family Practice Registry).

3. Community Pharmacy Primary Care Clinics – by appointment access and prescribe for minor ailments
